Flexibility: A Must-Have Feature for Process Automation Solutions
July 27, 2017
Automation is the million-dollar topic this year. In fact, I previously wrote about the rise of robotic process automation (RPA) and RPA for accounting companies. For those involved in medical claims processing, new opportunities are plentiful for improved efficiency through automation. And while there are a plethora of medical, healthcare and injury claims automation software and solutions, market leaders are distinguished by the flexibility of their offerings.
Earlier this year, a major player in the senior care market approached us looking for a better way to process medical claims, including CMS1500 and UB04 forms. They had done their homework and knew what they didn’t want in an automation solution – namely any of the existing platforms that they had seen.
One solution they hadn’t seen was Kofax Claims Agility (KCA). At the time it was very new to the market. As we walked them through the various features and benefits of the KCA platform, it quickly became evident that its capabilities matched our customer’s requirements closely. Our new customer became one of the first production implementations of KCA.
The tipping point for this decision may have been KCA’s customizable workflow. This important feature provides the flexibility needed so that any organization can process claims according to their unique processes, not according to rigid workflow constraints imposed by competing options. This benefit has proven its value to our customer after several months in production.
Automation may be the million-dollar topic this year for good reasons, but the concept of flexibility continues to carry considerable value.
